Moles can be congenital or acquired. Congenital moles are present at birth; while acquired moles are caused by aging and sun exposure. People work outdoor are more prone to develop moles.
Warts is caused by Human Papilloma virus (HPV) infection, the most common type is plane warts, it is flesh-colored or light brown with rough surface. Warts are highly autologous and contact contagious, it can also be infected indirectly by sharing towels and bedding with patients. Plane warts are seen commonly on the face, neck, back and limbs, it can easily spread to other sites by scratching of existing warts.
Seborrheic keratosis also known as senile wart, are dark brown or black raised skin growth with rough surface, very similar to warts and moles. It is the result of long-term UV exposure, common seen on sun exposed area on the face, it is not contagious.
